PAGES-CRIAS Meeting: Climate Histories
Uppsala, Sweden | 19–22 August 2025 (at the ESEH conference)
The Past Global Changes (PAGES) Climate Reconstruction and Impacts from Archives of Societies (CRIAS) working group will hold its final meeting on 19–22 August 2025 in conjunction with the European Society for Environmental History (ESEH) conference at the University of Uppsala, Sweden (and online). The meeting includes a workshop on 21 August and panels throughout the conference.
The CRIAS workshop will take place 14.00–15.30 on Thursday, August 21 at the English Park Campus, house 2, floor 2 (location 2-2033) and online.
The workshop will include:
· Recent progress and the state of the field in historical climatology.
· Planning for a working group synthesis product on climate histories.
· Discussions on future working groups and projects in climate history.
Participation is open to ESEH conference attendees and the public. Discussions on future working groups and projects will be open to all workshop participants, and active participation of all interested scholars in the synthesis product is welcome. In addition, we invite proposals for short presentations on emerging or under-represented regions and methods in climate history research, especially from scholars not already presenting at the ESEH conference.
Following the meeting at 17.30–19.00, there will be a reception and book launch for the new publication Nordic Climate Histories (English Park Campus, House 22, Location: 22-0031). All meeting participants are invited.
